Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs and emailed most current guidance with visit notes.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An inspection was initiated on 2/2/2021 (consultation) and concluded on 03/12/2021. The Provider was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were no daycarechildren present. Reviewed by FaceTIme physical space, nutrition, household member?s records, trainings and emergency preparation. One crib meets current CPSC requirements as it was manufactured 8/2020. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Based on observation and provider statement, the first aid kit is incomlete. Evidence: The first aid kit does not contain two traingular bandages or a pair of scissors.

Provider will put missing items in the first aid kit.

Description:
Based on observation, the outside stairwell does not have a protective barrier on one side of the stairs to prevent a child from falling. No handrail is available at child height for a set of stairs consisting of more than 3 steps. Evidence: Steps leading to the backyard that children will use is open on one side and no handrail is present. The outside stairwell is open on one side and a child could fall into the stairwell.
