Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on August 24, 2023 from 11:40 A.M.-1:30 P.M. There were five children present for a total of eleven points, ranging in ages from one year to three years of age, with one caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five child records, one caregiver record, and two household member records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Licensing Inspector at 540-430-9257.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-750-B
Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure that topical skin products were inaccessible to children.

Evidence:
1. There were two buckets of various sunscreen and insect repellants sitting on a bench right at the entrance of the door that comes in from the playground.
2. The provider confirmed that that the topical skin products were accessible to children.

Plan of Correction: The topical skin products were placed on the bench as the children came in from outside. They are usually stored in the closet beside the door. In the future all topical skin products will be placed in closet as we come back from outside.
