This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An announced Initial inspection was conducted today from 10:00am to 11:30am. There were no children in care. Provider and one household member's records were reviewed and found complete. Guidance was offered regarding children's records. A virtual inspection was also completed of the family day home to assess the space and materials that will be used for children. The home was found clean and supplied with ample toys and materials. Adequate space determined for the requested capacity of 9 children. The family day home's outdoor patio on the main level has not been approved for the use of children. Provider does not plan on completing the MAT training so currently no medications will be administered. Emergency procedures, provider contract, First Aid/CPR certification was verified. Three cribs were found on site, and meet the CPSC requirements. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. No violations were issued. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
