Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 05/30/2023 and concluded on 05/30/2023 from 3:25 PM to 4:30 PM. There were 17 children present, ranging in ages from 6 years to 10 years, with two staff supervising the class. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies. A total of five children?s records and the three staff?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-420-E-3
Description: Based on record review, the center was unable to provide documentation that at least semiannually information was provided in writing to parents of two out of five children regarding the development, behavior, adjustment and needs of their child in the program.

Evidence:

The records of child 4 and child 5 were reviewed. The start dates were documented as 8/24/22 for both children. Both children had documentation of information being provided to their parents on 12/8/22. The program ended on 6/9/23. The administration did not provide further documentation showing either child's parents were given the required information semiannually.

Plan of Correction: In the future the director will ensure that documentation is kept in each child's file showing information was provided to each child's parent semiannual regarding the child's development, behavior, adjustment and needs.
