Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 9/27/2022 with the center director and staff. There were 42 children present, ranging in ages from 5 years to 12 years, with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 7 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The children were finishing snack and playing outdoors. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on review of seven children's files, the facility failed to have all information in each child's file. Children with diagnosed food allergies should have a written care plan to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence: six children are listed as having diagnosed food allergies, but did not have an allergy action plan on file.
Plan of Correction:
Allergy action plans will be obtained from the school office, if available. If not, parents will be asked to get them from the physician.
