Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/27/2023 with the center director and staff. There were 20 school age children present, with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of three staff files, the facility failed to have staff complete the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course (VA Pre-service) within 90 days of employment. Evidence: Staff 1 (date of employment 1/09/2023) did not complete the VA Dept of Education sponsored orientation course until 8/15/2023.
Plan of Correction:
Staff will be required to complete the 10 hour training within 90 days of employment.
