Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 8/31/23 from 11:10am until 12:15pm. At the time of entrance, there were no children in care with the provider. Three children's records and two provider/household member records were reviewed. First aid and emergency supplies, documentation of emergency drills and the evacuation plan were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law. Violations are listed on the violation notice and were discussed with the provider during the exit interview.
Based on record review and interview, the provider did not meet all the requirements of the Health and Safety checklist.
1. The record for child 1 contained an asthma action plan. The provider stated that she administered an emergency medication to child 1 in September 2021. The provider does not have Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification. 2. The provider confirmed that she administered medication to child 1 without being MAT certified.
Plan of Correction:
The provider responded with the following: The provider plans to obtain Medication Administration Training certification. The provider will not administer any medication to children in care until MAT training has been completed.
