Discussed with staff at the center the supervision during check in time , model form for medication administration and references .
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring renewal inspection was conducted on January 30, 2024 from 3:00 pm - 4:05 pm the inspection was concluded on January 31, 2024. There were aproximaltey 61 children present children in the afternoon and 4 staff members. Children were being picked up from the school and being dropped off at the the program during the inspection. Children were participating in multiple table activities, bathroom breaks, announcements, snack time and transitions being completed for snack time. Outdoor area is public school playground. Five staff records and seven children records were reviewed. There was two medication record and 5 injury reports reviewed. The staff records were not available onsite. Staff record were reviewed on January 31, 2024. Licensing Inspector reviewed indoor areas, supervision, activities, equipment, emergency evacuation and sheltering-in-place drill documentation, emergency procedures and required posting.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on record review and staff interview, did not ensure the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course shall be completed within 90 calendar days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #3 (hire date 3/13/2023) did not have Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course incompleted within 90 calendar days employment.

Description:
Based on observation and staff, the licensee did not ensure complete annually a minimum of 16 hours of training appropriate to the age of children in care.
Evidence: Staff #4 completed 8.5 hours of 16 hours of annual trianing for 2022-2023.
