8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes
Comments:
An announced subsidy health and safety initial inspection was conducted on March 20, 2024 from approximately 10:00 am to 11:45 am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, household members, physical environment and equipment, emergencies, caregiver training, preventing the spread of disease and nutrition. The provider record, 2 household member records, and 2 children?s records were reviewed. All areas of the home were observed and areas where the children are cared for were inspected. There were no children in attendance.
A code compliance inspection was also conducted on this date.
The first aid kit was inspected and found complete. The menu, emergency numbers, and daily schedule were posted.
The information gathered during the inspection determined violations with applicable standards or law.
Violations were issued.

Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Based on observation the provider failed to ensure that areas and equipment of the home shall be maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: There was an unstable heavy dresser and a large television that a child could pull down on himself in the room that the children are cared for.
