Comments:
A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on May 3, 2022. The licensing inspector was onsite from approximately 12:40 until 2:00pm. The provider assisted the licensing inspector during the inspection. There were two children present, ranging from two to three years of age (total of four points) with one staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two children records and one staff record were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on observation and interview, the provider did not ensure the home was equipped with at least one carbon monoxide detector.
Evidence: The caregiver stated a carbon monoxide detector has been purchased but had not been installed as of May 3, 2022 when the licensing inspector asked the provider to show where the carbon monoxide detector was located. The family day home was built before 2015.
Plan of Correction:
I will install the carbon monoxide detector today.
Standard #:

Description:
Based on documentation review and interview, the provider did not ensure emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place drills were documented.
Evidence: On May 3, 2022 the drill log with emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place drills was reviewed. An emergency evacuation drill for April 2022 was not documented. The provider stated an emergency evacuation drill was completed in April 2022 but she forgot to document it on the drill log.
Plan of Correction:
Going forward I will make sure to write down the emergency drills as they occur.
