8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes
Comments:
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was completed on May 12, 2022. There were five children, with one being a household member child, present with one caregiver supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on interview and review of children's records, provider did not ensure there is a current list of required information regarding children's allergies, dietary restrictions and sensitivities.
Evidence: Provider stated she did not have a current list of all children's allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions that is dated and kept confidential. Review of children's records and physical examination revealed there is a child will allergies and dietary restrictions.

Based on review, provider did not ensure there is required medication documentation when a child has a diagnosed food allergy.
Evidence: The record for child #3 had documentation of a food allergies on the physical examination and there was not an allergy action plan from the physician.
