Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on074/22/2022 . There were 48 children present, ranging in ages from 2 years to school age, with 7 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 6 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program and discussed with the program director during the exit interview
Based upon review of children's records and staff interview, the facility has not ensured that there is a written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence: 1. There was diphenhydramine and epinephrine stored for emergency administration to child 6 for an egg allergy. The record did not include a written care plan for child 6's diagnosed food allergy. 2. Staf 1 acknowledged that they did not have a written care plan for child 6.
Plan of Correction:
The facility responded with the following: The parent will be contacted today to obtain an allergy management plan from the doctor. In the future, we will ensure that we have obtained allergy management plans for any child with a diagnosed food allergy.

Staff 1 verified that there was no written parent authorization for the medications to be administered to child 8 in a emergency.

The facility responded with the following: All required authorizations will be obtained. In the future, medication authorization forms will be obtained prior to allowing medication to be brought into the facility.
