Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:35 pm- 3:40 pm. There were 41 children directly supervised by 7 staff. The physical plant, staff records, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed napping, participating in one on one activities, reading books, and preparing to eat snack. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed or discussed. There was an ample supply of materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method.

Evidence: There was cleaning spray bottle at counter height in the toddler classroom, not locked as required.

Plan of Correction: Spray bottle was removed during the inspection.
