The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services.
Guidance, resources, model forms and training links can be found on the website childcareva.com.
The Licensing Inspector worked with the provider to get the FieldPrint fingerprint codes and appointments as the criminal record was through the Arlington County and needs to be through OBI. Once both letters from OBI are received the license can be issued.

An on-site initial study was conducted. Rooms are set-up with equipment a nd materials, a separate sleeping room and outside play area in the back yard. Provider was previously licensed by the State. No children are currently in care. Provider has been taking classes all winter and has over 25 hours of training. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
