Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted 2/15/2023 between the hours of 10:05am through 11:05am. There were a total of 4 children present ranging in age from 13 months to 3 years (10 points) with the Provider. A total of 3 children?s files, 1 staff files, and 2 household member?s files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: participating in a fire drill, playing outside, riding bikes, building with Legos, listening to story time, and washing hands to prepare for lunch. Positive interactions between caregiver and children were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the programming space, children and staff records, emergency drills, menu, attendance, and emergency procedures were completed today. No new staff have been hired since the last inspection. The provider advised there was no medication on site today. There was an abundant supply of age appropriate materials and toys. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.
Please complete the columns for "Plan of Correction" and "Date to be Corrected" for each violation cited on the Violation Notice, and then return a signed and dated copy to the licensing office by 5pm on 3/7/2023. Please email me at morgan.bryson@doe.virginia.gov with any questions.
Based on record review and provider interview, the provider did not ensure that shelter-in-place procedures were practiced a minimum of twice per year.
Evidence: The most recent shelter-in-place drill was conducted on 2/9/2022.
Plan of Correction:
Making sure that I record 2 shelter in place drills for the year 2023.
