Observed that the provider did not have any age appropriate materials and equipment in the home, in preparation for the children she wanted to care for. Discussed with the provider that she needed to obtain age appropriate materials and equipment for the ages of children she wanted to have in care, and that she should consider obtaining these items prior to taking in children so that she was prepared.
Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted on 8/29/22. There were no children in care or enrolled in the program. The home, the provider's records, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no supplies or equipment for children on site. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Based on observation, the provider did not meet the criteria of the health and safety checklist. Evidence: the following criteria were not met during the initial evaluation: 1) the provider does not have safety gates or protective barriers placed on stairways that are accessible to children. 2) the provider did not have any of the household outlets covered in the home, in the areas accessible to children. Approximately 15+ uncovered outlets were observed. 3) the provider did not have a first aid kit or an operable flashlight. 4) the provider had a knife block accessible to children in the main play area on a counter. 5) the provider had toxic household products under the sink (disinfectant sprays)
