Technical Assistance:
A discussion was held on the children walking to the playground including the route that will be taken, how the children will get to the playground and the number of staff that will accompany the children. According to the standards: When the outdoor activity area is not adjacent to the center, there shall be at least two staff members on the outdoor activity area whenever one or more children are present. Centers licensed for the care of infants and toddlers shall provide a separate playground area for these children that has at least 25 square feet of unpaved surface per infant/toddler on the outdoor area at any one time. Outdoor activity, weather and air quality allowing, for at least one hour per day or session if the center operates more than five hours per day or session.
Comments:
An initial inspection was conducted on May 12, 2022. The physical space, emergency procedures, emergency supplies, menu, materials and supplies, policies and procedures and the playground were inspected. All rooms were measured. There were 2 staff records and no children records to review. Violations observed during the inspection can be viewed on the violation page. Based on review of required documentation, daily health observation (DHO) training has not been taken by any staff member. Evidence DHO training has not been taken by the owner or director.
Plan of Correction:
We did not know that DHO was required, we will take the class as soon as possible.
