Comments:
A complaint investigation was conducted today in response to a complaint received by the Fairfax Licensing office on April 25, 2023 in regards to the provider exceeding the licensed capacity.
Evidence gathered during the inspection supported the complaint and it is deemed to be valid. Violations from the inspection can be found on the violation notice.

Based on record review and provider statement, the provider did not ensure that that the total number of children receiving care at any one time does not exceed the maximum licensed capacity of the home. Evidence: Attendance records for 4/20/23 lists six children in care. Provider statements confirmed that six children were in care for that day. The provider's licensed capacity five children.

Based on observation, the smoke detector in the family day home was not operational on the date of inspection. Evidence: The smoke detector was heard chirping due to low battery levels on the date of inspection.
