Technical Assistance:
Discussed clarifying medication policy to remove names of staff who are listed as certified to administer medication, but who are not. The family day home does not currently administer medication.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30am-12:15pm. There were 4 children and 2 caregivers. At the beginning of the inspection 4 children were observed with 1 caregiver returning from a walking trip. The home, 2 caregiver records, 4 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There were no medications on site today. Children were observed walking with a caregiver back to the family day home and preparing for lunch. Handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Based on observation, the use of topical skin products did not meet all requirements. Evidence: Two containers of bug repellant, two containers of sunscreen, and one .container of diaper ointment were not labeled with the child's name.
