Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, April 20, 2023. The inspector was on site from approximately 1:20 pm until 3:00 pm. There were two children present with one caregiver supervising for a value of five points. Children were napping at the time of the inspector?s arrival. Later children were observed preparing for snack and playing with toys. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records, and one caregiver records were reviewed. The inspectors interacted with the provider and children in care. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector.

Based on observation and interview, the provider did not maintain an operable thermometer to monitor refrigerator and freezer compartment temperatures.
Evidence:
1. The refrigerator and freezer being used to store food for the children in care did not contain a thermometer to monitor the temperature. 2. The provider stated she had purchased the new mini refrigerator to use for the children?s food. The refrigerator in use for the household contained a built in thermometer and could not be moved to the new refrigerator.
Plan of Correction:
P the provider: I will purchase a thermometer for the refrigerator that's used for the children's food.
