A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on May 16, 2023 to determine the center?s compliance with subsidy standards. There were 140 children present with 21 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventive measure(s).

Based on record review the center failed to ensure that all staff who work directly with children shall have within 90 days of the date of employment current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. The training shall include an in-person competency demonstration. Evidence: 1. Staff #7's record did not contain documentation of a complete CPR certification. 2. An administrator verified that CPR was not completed for staff # 7.

Based on record review the center failed to ensure that staff have Current certification in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care. However, staff who is a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse with a current license from the Board of Nursing shall not be required to obtain first aid certification. During the 90-day period, there must always be at least one staff with current CPR and first aid training present during operating hours of the center. Evidence: 1. Staff #7's record did not contain documentation of first aid certification. Staff # 7's hire date was 1/3/2023.
