Comments:
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 11/27/2023 between the hours of approximately 10:35 am and 11:20 am. There were 7 children present, ranging in ages from 5 months to 3 years, with 2 caregivers supervising. Children were observed while playing with toys and watching cartoons. The care area looked organized with ample variety of toys and learning materials for the children to enjoy. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. There was no medication on site today. A total of 4 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Robles at maria.robles@doe.virginia.gov.
Based on record review, four out of four records reviewed did not contain documentation that the parents had been provided in writing of required information. Evidence: 1) The records for Child #1 - Child #4 did not contain documentation that the parents had received the fdh's policies for the administration of medications.
Plan of Correction:
Based on finding, FDH policy for the administration of medication was reviewed, acknowledged, signed by parents for all enrolled children. Signed form by parents is now included in the individual records.
