Technical Assistance:
1. Make sure no items such as furniture etc is around the pool that could be used as a stepping stool to gain access to the pool.

2. Please install a lock on the gate leading to pool steps to prevent unauthorized access by the children. Please send a picture of the installed gate lock by 3/31/23.

3. Review the children's files to make sure you have obtained up-to-date immunization records for each child.

4. Before enrolling your first infant, you must purchase a crib approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) which are cribs manufactured on 12/28/2010 or thereafter. Additionally, notify your Licensing Inspector upon enrolling an infant and send the documentation showing that the crib meets the CPSC requirements for use prior to the infants first day.

5. Slides and play equipment that children can climb or fall from should not be within 6 feet of any obstacle including a sidewalk.
6. Since your daycare children will be using your pool, it is the expectation that while a child is in the pool, you/caregiver remain present and able to see and hear any child in the pool so that you may intervene if the child(ren) requires help or assistance.

Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted today with the provider from 10 am to 11 am. No children were present, however there are three schoolagers enrolled and three children's files were reviewed. The provider is using the basement as the daycare space, There was ample supplies, furnishings and equipment set up in the basement.
All food will be brought from home.
The provider is not planning to transport or administer medication.
The areas of non compliance are outlined on the violation notice.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-850-110-C
Description: Based on observation, interview and a review of recordkeeping, it was determined that all of the criteria on the health and safety checklist was not met.
Evidence:
1. The Licensing Inspector observed medication ( acetaminophen) stored on a shelf which is in an area accessible to the children.
2. The provider is not conducting practices emergency escape drills.

Plan of Correction: I will do monthly escape drills and keep documentation.
The medication was moved during the inspection and placed in an area out of reach of children.
