Technical Assistance:
Today we discussed that items which are "inaccessible" to the infants, at this stage, may need to be relocated as the infants become mobile and curious as they may try to access them. The same consideration must be given to any possible items that could be climbed or pulled over by a crawling or toddling baby.
Comments:
An initial monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 3/6/2023. There were 2 infants present with 1 provider supervising. The point total was 8. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 1 provider records were reviewed. The inspection started at 10:15 am and concluded at 11:20 am.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on a review of records and interview, the provider did not always keep a copy of each child's physical examination results obtained on each child before or within 30 days after enrollment, Evidence: Two enrolled children's records were reviewed. The record for child #1, whose date of enrollment was documented and confirmed by the provider as 11/14/2022, did not contain the results of a physical examination. The provider confirmed that this documentation was not present in the child's record or available for review.
Plan of Correction:
The provider stated that she would speak with child #1's parent at pickup the same day and request that the child's physical examination results be provided to her by the end of the week.
