Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 11/20/2023. There were 7 children, ages 9 months - 4 years, 1 administrative staff and 2 staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, environment and equipment, care of children, preventing the spread of disease, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 children?s records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed during center time and lunch time. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 10:00am and departed the center at 11:59am.

Discussion on standards related to children?s records. Discussion on standards related to nutrition and food services.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-B
Description: Based on observation and discussion with staff, the center failed to ensure that annual approval from the health department shall be provided.

Evidence: The annual health inspection was dated 10/21/2022 and on the day of the inspection an updated annual health inspection was not documented.

Plan of Correction: Provider will have health department conduct environmental sanitation inspection.
