Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 5/4/2023. The inspector was on site from approximately 8:55 am-10:16 am. There were 6 children in care, ranging in age from 8 months to 3 years, with 1 caregiver supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, household members, physical environment and equipment, care of children, emergencies, caregiver training, preventing the spread of disease and nutrition. A total of 6 child records and 2 caregiver records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction and date to be corrected for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today. You will need to specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Just writing the word corrected is not acceptable. Your plan of correction must contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures. Please do not use staff names; list staff by positions only.
Based on observation and interview, the provider did not ensure that areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, were maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence: 1. Eight pieces of cigarette butt litter were observed in the outdoor space where the children play. 2. The provider acknowledged that the cigarette litter was not safe in the play area.
Plan of Correction:
All cigarette butts will be disposed of by close of business 5/4/2023.
