Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on March 8, 2024 between the hours of 10:45am-2:00pm. There were a total of 27 children with five supervising staff members present. Children were observed during bottle feeding, handwashing, books, engaged in group activities and outdoor play time. A selection of staff and children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure that the center's activities, services, and facilities are maintained in compliance with the center's own policies and procedures. Evidence: 1. The center has a diaper changing procedure. It states that staff will remove the gloves after they have completed the diaper change and to wash the hands of the child. 2. Staff #2 did not remove their gloves after performing a diaper change on a child. After the diaper change, Staff #2 picked up the child without removing the gloves and washed the child's hands in the sink.
Plan of Correction:
The staff members will be retrained on diaper changing procedures.
