8VAC20-790 SUBSIDY REGULATIONS

Comments:
A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted on June 4, 2024 from approximately 10:30am until 1:30pm. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-250-B
Description: Based on review of two caregivers? records and interview, the vendor did not ensure one caregiver completed the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff sponsored by the Department of Education (DOE) within the first 90 day of employment.

Evidence:
1. The record for Caregiver #2 (12/15/2023) did not contain documentation of completed Virginia Preservice Training sponsored by the DOE.
2. Caregiver #1 stated the documentation of training could not accessed during the inspection.
3. As of 06/09/2024, the licensing inspector has not received the documented training.

Plan of Correction: Electric files records will be reconsidered. All files will be printed and added to the record.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-250-D-1
Description: Based on review of two caregivers? records and interview, the vendor did not ensure one caregiver obtained current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. The training shall include an in-person competency demonstration.
1. The record for Caregiver #2 (12/15/2023) did not contain documentation of completed Virginia Preservice Training sponsored by the DOE.
2. Caregiver #1 stated the documentation of training could not accessed during the inspection.
3. As of 06/09/2024, the licensing inspector has not received the documented training.

Description: Based on review of two caregivers? records and interview, the vendor did not ensure one caregiver obtained current certification in first aid with the first 90 days of employment.

2. Caregiver #1 stated the documentation of training could not accessed during the inspection.
3. As of 06/09/2024, the licensing inspector has not received the documented training.
