Discussed required components for meals and snacks provided by the Family Day Home.
Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today between the hours of 10:45am and 1:05pm. There were 7 children and 2 resident children (16 points) directly supervised by the provider and 1 assistant caregiver. The home, 2 caregiver records, 2 children?s records, and evacuation drills were inspected. Children were observed playing freely. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Based on review of the menu, meals provided by the family day home did not meet all requirements.
Evidence: 1. Breakfast served in the Family day home did not meet the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as the breakfast did not contain the following: a)Juice or Fruit or Vegetable b) Grains/Breads 2. The children were served yogurt and milk.

The menu will be updated to include all required food groups.

Evidence: 1. There was not a record for Child #1 at the family day home. 2. The provider reported they were providing care for Child #1 due to a family emergency and did not have a record for the child.

The provider will ensure each child in the home has a record.
