Comments:
An unannounced inspection was initiated on 9/25/2023 in response to a complaint that was received by the licensing department on 9/22/2023 regarding allegations of inadequate supervision, program leader qualifications, nutrition, transportation, and daily activities for infants. The inspection was initiated on 9/25/2023 and completed on 9/27/2023. On 9/25/2023, the inspector was on site from approximately 10:30 am to 12:11 pm. Interviews with staff were completed, observations were made in the center, and documentation was reviewed. Additional interviews were conducted remotely.
The preponderance of the evidence gathered during the investigation does not support the allegation; therefore, the complaint is determined to be not valid. Though not a part of the original complaint, there were violations found during the inspection regarding staff record requirements and first aid training and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) requirements. Based on a review of staff records and interview, the center did not ensure one staff record was kept that contained the required information.
Evidence: 1. The record of staff #1 (date of employment: 8/29/2023) did not contain documentation that two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment. 2. Administration acknowledged that the references were not documented in the record.
