Technical Assistance:
Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on July 10 2024 between 12:15pm and 1:00pm. There were 5 children (12 points) in the care of the provider. One staff record and two child records were reviewed. The attendance, menu, first aid kit, radio, and flashlight was reviewed and inspected. Citations are listed on the violation notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-800-60-B
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not ensure that each child record contained al of the required information.

Evidence: Child #1 record did not contain documentation of two emergency contacts including address and telephone numbers.

Plan of Correction: I have added all the contact information for all the kids.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-200-A
Description: Based on record review, the provider did not ensure that all assistants, by the end of their first week of assuming job responsibilities, were oriented.

Evidence: Staff #1 did not have documentation on record that documented an orientation received by the end of the first week of employment.

Plan of Correction: I have provided orientation
