Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted December 5, 2023 between 1:45pm and 3:05pm. There were 6 children present with two (2) caregivers supervising within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed during sleeping or resting on their cots, diapering and toileting procedures, handwashing, and playing with age-appropriate toys and materials. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas administration, required posted documents, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programing, medication, evacuation drill logs, attendance, child and caregiver records, and emergency procedures. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, contact the Licensing Inspector, Sheila Nelson at sheila.nelson@ doe.virginia.gov

Based on record review and interview, the emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly. Evidence: 1. There was no documentation for an emergency evacuation for the month of November. 2. The provider acknowledged an evacuation drill was not conducted in November.
Plan of Correction:
I got confused and thought it was every 2 months. I will ensure a monthly drill is completed going forward.
Standard #:
