Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on July 1, 2024 between 10:50am and 11:59am. There were 2 children present, with 2 caregivers supervising. A total of 3 child records and 2 caregiver records were reviewed. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. No medication was on sight at the time of the inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-790
Description: Based on observation, the required telephone numbers were not posted in a visible area close to the telephone.
Evidence:
1. The 911 number was posted was not posted near the telephone. The number was posted on the bulletin board at the top of the stairs.
2. The responsible person for emergency backup care was not listed.
3. The regional poison control center number was not listed.

Plan of Correction: I will add the telephone numbers and post immediately. Violation was corrected during the inspection.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-920
Description: Based on observation and interview, meals and snacks were not provided by the family day home to the parents or posted in an area accessible to parents.
Evidence:
1. Menu was not posted in the family day home.
2. The provider stated a menu was not prepared for the week.

Plan of Correction: I will prepare a menu weekly and provide it the parents.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-690-D
Description: Based on observation, the diapering surface was not sanitized after each use.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver #2 did not allow the diapering surface to air dry after spraying the surface with a bleach solution. .
2. Sanitized means treated in such a way as to remove bacteria and viruses from inanimate surfaces through first cleaning, secondly using a solution of bleach mixed with water and the surface is allowed to air dry.

Plan of Correction: I will let the bleach solution air dry or remain on the surface for 2 minutes before wiping the surface.
Violation was corrected during the inspection.
