Technical Assistance:
Medications must be locked and inaccessible to children. Medication administration requirements. Diaper changing procedures. Food storage. Storage of cleaning chemicals. Handwashing procedures. Emergency evacuation drills and procedures. Transportation requirements. Outdoor play requirements.
Comments:
An announced monitoring inspection was conducted on February 27, 2024 at 10:00 am to determine compliance with the requirements for Voluntary Registration .The provider assisted the licensing inspector during the inspection. There were no children in care at the time of the inspection. The licensing inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administrative records, nutrition and food service, emergency supplies and equipment, handwashing and diapering, transportation, and areas of the home inside and outside where children will be cared for were inspected. The inspector reviewed 1 caregiver record, 1 assistant record, 1 substitute provider record, and 1 household member's record. There was sufficient supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report
Information gathered during the inspection determines non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice, sign, and return it to me within 5 business days from today, 02/29/2024. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Your plan of correction should contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again, and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measure(s).
Based on review of records and interview, the provider did not obtain a fingerprint-based criminal history record check for each staff prior to employment. Evidence: 1. The records for Staff 2 and Staff 3 contained determination letters that were obtained and further disseminated by a different provider. 2. State and federal laws prohibit secondary dissemination of background check records by a child day program.

Description:
Based on observation, interview, and documentation review, the provider did not meet the criteria on the health and safety checklist. Evidence: 1. 911 and emergency numbers were not posted in clear view. 2. There was a knife block with knives in it on the counter in the kitchen. 3. The temperature in the refrigerator was unable to be determined to be no more than 40 degrees (F) due to it not having a thermometer. 4. The pet dog that lives in the home did not have up to date rabies shots. Updated shots were due on or before 04/26/23.
