Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted on March 22 2024 between 10:30am and 12:00pm. There are currently no children enrolled. The provider record, assistant record, household records, emergency plan, documents to be used in the child care, and the home was inspected and reviewed. Standard #: 8VAC20-800-760-A-1
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that the first aid kit contains the minimum required items.

Evidence: The first aid supply box did not contain tweezers.

Plan of Correction: I purchased tweezers and placed them in the kit.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-940-B
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that an operable thermometer was available to monitor the refrigerator and freezer compartment temperatures.

Evidence: A thermometer was not available to monitor the temperature.

Plan of Correction: I purchased thermometer and placed them.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A
Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure that areas of the family day home, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a safe and operable condition.

Evidence: The gate used to enter the family day home space had areas of splintering wood.
