Technical Assistance:
The following were discussed with the provider: - termination of care policies for parents and provider decision - USDA menu components - lack of visibility behind shed in yard
City of Norfolk inspection scheduled for June 18th.
Comments:
An initial inspection was initiated and concluded June 11, 2024. The inspector arrived at 11:15 AM and departed at 12:55 PM. There were no children resent. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 caregiver household records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with an applicable standard and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program. The violation was reviewed with the provider during the exit interview.
Based upon observation, the provider has not ensured that areas outside of the family day home are maintained in a safe condition. Evidence; There was one area in the left corner of the backyard and two area along the side fence of the backyard where poison ivy was growing abundantly.
Plan of Correction:
The provider responded with the following: All evidence of poison ivy will be removed (6/15/2024, left corner of backyard and two areas along side of fence) and the areas will be treated to prevent the spread of any new growth,
