Comments:
An announced initial inspection was conducted on 7/8/2024 from 11:22 a.m. until 12:50 pm. The licensee will operate a program serving Infants ages 6 weeks to 24 months of age. Standards pertaining to the direct care and supervision of children could not be determined during this initial inspection, as the licensed program is not yet in operation and children were not present. Areas and equipment to be utilized by children in the licensed program were inspected. The physical facility, classrooms, bathroom facilities, and outdoor play areas were inspected. Supplies and equipment were observed and classroom spaces were measured. Required postings were observed and written policies and procedures viewed. The program will not initially offer transportation to and from the facility or administer medication to children in care. Today we discussed compliance with standards related to staff records, children's records and medication administration. The inspector reviewed General Procedures regarding issuance of a six-month conditional license and recommendations at the conclusion of the conditional license. Areas of standards that could not be determined at this time will be determined during the first unannounced inspection after the conditional license has been issued. Violations noted during today's inspection non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program . All future inspections will be unannounced. The first unannounced inspection will be conducted within 60 days from the date the license is issued. Based on measurement with a digital thermometer during the inspection, the applicant did not ensure that each restroom provided for children has sinks near the toilets that is supplied with running warm water that does not secede 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Evidence: The hot water at the hand washing sinks measured 126 degrees Fahrenheit with a digital thermometer. There were no children present in the building yet. A child's skin can be burned with water hotter than 120 degrees.
Plan of Correction:
The Applicant adjusted the temperature on the hot water heater on 7/9/2024 and will continue to monitor the temperature to assure it does not exceed 120dehrees Fahrenheit.
