Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, November 16, 2022 to determine the centers compliance with licensing standards. Most but not all standards were reviewed during today's inspection. The licensing inspector was on site from approximately 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Director assisted with the inspection. There were 53 children present, ranging in ages from two years to twelve years, with eight staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Children were observed letters of thankfulness to their parents, working on writing skills, playing with toys, play dough and discussing Thanksgiving. Later children had lunch and prepared for nap time. Children provide their own meals. Staff interacted with children in a positive manner. A total of five child records and four staff records were reviewed. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, the center did not ensure hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. A bottle of all purpose cleaner was observed on a low shelf in the kindergarten classroom, accessible to children in care. 2. Multiple containers of sanitizing wipes were observed unlocked under the sink in the four year old classroom accessible to children in care.
Plan of Correction:
The director removed the cleaners and placed them in a locked cabinet.
