Comments:
A code of compliance inspection was initiated on 12/28/2021 and concluded on 12/28/2021, the inspector was onsite from 11:15am to 1:30pm. There were 2 children present with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 children's records and 2 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on observation, the center did not ensure all areas of the premises accessible to children were free of obvious injury hazards. Evidence: 1. The general purpose classroom had areas with chipped and peeling paint. 2. The swing chains had several areas with hardened and peeling rubber which presented a pinching hazard. 3. There were several rusted areas on the swings. 4. One swing chain was broken and tied on a pole which presented an entanglement hazard. 5. The two picnic tables located on the playground had cracked plastic presenting a pinching hazard.
Plan of Correction:
We are in the process if getting bids to renovate the play area. We will correct it within the next 30 days. The playground equipment is not age appropriate for the children currently in care so the equipment is not currently in use.
