Technical Assistance:
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the Virginia Department of Social Services. Guidance, resources and training links can be found on the new website childcareva.com. The violations listed on the Supplemental page reflect the new VDOE codes and standards.
Consultation was given on the Child Care Stabilization Grant and new standard set effective 10/13/2021.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/1/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 26 children present, ranging in ages from two years to four years with direct care staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. Medication authorizations were reviewed for an emergency medication on-site. Two staff have MAT certification. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance.

Based on record review and staff statement, annual updates for children's records has not been conducted. Evidence: Child #1 was missing an annual update to confirm emergency information was current.
Plan of Correction:
Administration will review and have parents update children's records.
