Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated on August 6, 2020 and concluded on August 10, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 13 children present and 6 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records, 2 staff records and the background checks of 4 other individuals submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on record review and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure that any new person designated as applicant shall have a search of central registry(CPS) before the end of 30 days after the change.
Evidence: The record for applicant #4 did not include a CPS check and staff #3 confirmed they had been an applicant for more than 30 days.
Plan of Correction:
The Central Registry Search was mailed last week and it will be submitted as soon as it is received.
