Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on November 30, 2020 and concluded on December 2, 2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 98 children and 13 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed five children's records and five staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on record review, in two of five staff records reviewed, the licensee did not deny continued employment to a staff member when the center did not have a central registry finding within 30 days of employment.
Evidence: The director confirmed that there were no central registry results for Staff #2 (date of hire 7/20/2020) and Staff #3 (date of hire 8/5/2020)
Plan of Correction:
The background checks have been mailed and they are already in the process of being corrected.
