Technical Assistance:
Consultation was given on medication authorization forms and allergy action plans. Reviewed rest time standard and that the rest time is not to exceed 2 hours. Advised putting cots down after lunch to ensure space is adequate during "active time" and that the children are not on the mats longer than 2 hours.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. All rooms were in ratio with direct care staff. Observed holiday crafts, transition to lunch time (sloppy joe sandwich, tater tots, pears and milk) and preparation for rest time. Medication was reviewed, a newly hired staff record and 6 children's records. Emergency preparation is current. Two staff have current Medication Administration Training (MAT) certification and emergency medication is on-site. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. If you have any questions regarding the inspection, please feel free to contact me. Thank you Ann Dramstad Licensing Inspector 703-314-0860 ann.dramstad@dss.virginia.gov
