Comments:
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on 12/6/22 from 10:35am until 3:05pm. There were 48 children present with 10 staff. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Description: Based on record review and interview, the vendor did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children shall have within 90 days of the date of employment current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.

Evidence:
1. The record for staff 1 (date of hire: 4/26/22) does not contain documentation of current CPR certification.
2. The center director confirmed that the record for staff 1 is lacking documentation of current CPR certification.

Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: This will be corrected on or before 1/3/2022. Going forward all staff will be required to attend the CPR/first aid training that is every 28 days at one of our schools or will be required to obtain it on their own to maintain compliance. Management and DM will be validating to ensure all staff files are complete.
