Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on March 9, 2020 from 11:45 am through 2:30 pm. There were ten children in the care of two staff and the administrator could provide help if needed. The total enrollment for the program was fifty-three children. Six children records and five staff records, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, first aid kits, and posted required information were reviewed. The medication and documentation were reviewed for two children. The exceptions to compliance were noted on the violation notice. Bathroom procedures, hand washing, lunch (provided by parents), reading, watching a book on the computer, singing, transitions, and nap time were observed during this visit.

Based on observation and verification from staff, hazardous materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: 1. In the preschool classroom, bleach solution was unlocked and placed on a shelf above the sink. 2. Staff verified that the bleach solution was not in a locked location.
Plan of Correction:
I will get maintenance to purchase a lock for the cabinet in the classroom.
