A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 11:45am through 2:00pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A total of 41 children were present with 11 caregivers. The children were engaged in the following: eating lunch which consisted of salisbury steak with gravy, whole grain rice, peas, peaches, and milk, listening to storytime, and napping. Programming, menus, emergency procedures, 2 medications, and 6 children?s records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Adequate staff on site are current in CPR/First Aid training, Daily Health Observation Training, and Medication Administration Training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
