Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on May 5, 2020 and concluded on May 5, 2020. The in-charge person was contacted by video call to initiate the inspection virtually. There were no children present and no staff. The inspector emailed the in-charge person a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two children's record and two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on review of staff records and interview, the center did not ensure each staff record included all required documentation.
Evidence:
1. The record of staff #2, hired 02/12/2020, did not contain documentation of orientation training as required. 2. Administration stated documentation of orientation for staff #2 was not obtained.
Plan of Correction:
Per the administration: Documentation of orientation will be documented and kept in the record.
