Technical Assistance:
Discussed the possibility of being licensed , something the center tried to be approved for in 2004.
Comments:
An annual RECDC inspection was conducted on today's date. The center has 127 children in care with 25 staff in 11 groupings. All groupings are in ratio. The center has rooms with lots of space and supplies for the children to explore. Observed the children reading stories, carving pumpkins, building with blocks, having music, having PE and playing outside. For lunch the children bring their own food from home and the center offered snacks, today the children had crackers and pumpkin seeds. Interaction between staff and children observed in all the groupings. This inspection was started at 10:30 and ended at 1:00. Based on the review of a sampling of 7 staff records, it was determined that the center failed to get some of the required background checks for the staff. Evidence: Out of the 7 staff records reviewed , 6 are missing the sworn disclosure statement, staff 1,2,3,4,5 and 6. 7 out of 7 staff are missing the child protective service check. Staff 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7.

No that we are no longer processing background checks through the diocese of Arlington we will resubmit the background checks for the staff.

Description:
Based on the review of the centers handbook and interview with the director , the center failed to inform the parents that the center is religiously exempt.

Description:
Based on the review of 7 staff records it was determined that the center failed to submit fingerprint searches for 4 staff out of 7 staff records checked. The director called OBI during the inspection and they have no records of the checks. Evidence: The following staff are missing letter of eligibility from office of background investigations. Staff 1,2,6 and 7

Staff has already been informed that they can take leave to get this done as soon as possible.
