Comments:
An annual RECDC health and safety inspection was conducted today from 9:30am-10:35am. The center had 43 children in care with 9 staff within the supervision guidelines. A tour of the facility was conducted, records were reviewed, and observations were made. The children were observed creating art projects, participating in dramatic play, handwriting, and reading books. Based on a review of staff records, the child day center did not obtain a copy of the search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from any state in which an employee has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence: 1. Staff #1 (doh: 9/1/2022) did not have documentation of an out-of-state child abuse and neglect central registry search from 2 different states in which the employee lived in during the preceding five years.
Plan of Correction:
I will send both background check requests out right away.
