A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 2/12/2020 from 10:55am to 1:30pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 47 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 14 direct care staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed playing with blocks, in the home-living area, spelling their names, and eating lunch. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. Lunch served was beef chili, roasted potatoes, cornbread muffins, pears, and milk. There was a sufficient amount of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Anansa Archer-Hicks at (703) 268-3295 or anansa.archer-hicks@dss.virginia.gov.
